One-day workshop on 2 July 2008 at Microsoft, Segrate - Milan

The Seventh Framework Program (FP7), 2007-2013, is the main European
instrument through which the European Commission supports financially
activities Research and Technological Development (R & D) in
different thematic areas corresponding to major sectors of European
impact.

Among the topics of interest in the programming of
FP7, the European Commission has created a specific topic on Security
which has allocated 1,400 million, representing about 4% of a total
budget of FP7.

The topic Security has taken a strategic role
within the European policies through the feature that distinguishes him
cross. The projects can be developed in many areas of application,
ranging from transport to civil protection, energy and environment to
the field of health protection.

With this objective in fact
the project was born SECURE-FORCE, a specific action-funded by the
European Commission-which offers support to enterprises, especially
SMEs, in the implementation of new projects for research, development
and innovation under the theme Securityper encourage their
participation in R & D programmes of FP7 Europe.

The
project activities SECURE-FORCE are certainly of interest to
universities, research centres and large companies, involved in safety,
they intend to involve SMEs with appropriate technologies and expertise
in their projects ricerca.SECURE-FORCE operates primarily in the
following areas of the security sector:
• Systems and secure communication services;
• Security infrastructure interconnected;
• Security in the transport sector (including aeronautics);
• Data protection and privacy;
• Protection against terrorism and bio-terrorism;
• Prevention and management of the crisis.
What are the benefits offered by SECURE-FORCE?

By participating in the activities of SECURE-FORCE, companies will have the opportunity to:
• Obtaining assistance and support to facilitate their participation in R & D projects
• Develop collaborations high-level technical leaders and organizations
with international networks of research in the field of security
• Access to detailed information on funding opportunities offered by FP7 for tabling proposals in areas relating to security
• Benefit of innovative technologies developed at European level
SECURE-FORCE Italy

The consortium SECURE-FORCE is represented in Italy by the company
CIAOTECH Srl (GROUP NAPs) and the FILAS SpA, as part of the project
activities CIAOTECH Srl (GROUP NAPs) will organise in Milan, in June, a
one-day workshop in collaboration with Microsoft, with the aim of:
• Inform about news and opportunities proposed by the Seventh Framework
Program (FP7), contributing to the dissemination of information in
particular on the programmes and ICT Security
• Offer support to
Italian companies and organizations to encourage their participation in
R & D projects through the implementation of round tables on
specific issues and meetings one-to-one
• Present the benefits that entails, especially SMEs, participation in R & D projects in Europe
• Stimulate the meeting between SMEs, research institutions,
universities and large company to promote collaboration in new R &
D projects in the field of Homeland Security

The initiative
fits within the attention and resources posed by Microsoft on 2 aspects
of particular interest: security in IT and service Innovation and
Financing.

In response to emerging and increasingly pressing
need in the field of security, Microsoft has included with Microsoft
SQL Server 2005 advanced security features, so as to obtain a platform
database and analysis safe. SQL Server 2005 provides advanced security
technologies such as the installation of automatic security updates and
encryption of sensitive data. More information

Microsoft she has a service aimed at supporting Italian companies,
public and private, through technological innovation calls for public
funding. Innovation and Funding, therefore, aims to identify funding
opportunities and to give concrete responses to the design ideas and
investment companies in the Technology and Research and Development.
